How to measure your wall
Measuring your walls correctly helps ensure a perfect fit for your new wallpaper.
Tip: We recommend adding 5–10 cm (2–4 inches) to both the height and width. This allows flexibility during installation.
Standard wall
Measure the full height and width of the wall you want to cover. It’s always a good idea to measure more than once to make sure your numbers are correct. Only include the area that will be covered by wallpaper, and do not include skirting boards or coving.
Multiple walls
If your wallpaper will continue across more than one wall, measure the width of each wall and add them together. Use the total width when placing your order. There’s no need to order the wallpaper separately for each wall. We recommend that you add 10 cm / 4 inches to the overall width to ensure you’ll have some extra material for the corner.
Sloped walls
When measuring a wall with a slope, take the measurement from the longest height and the widest width of the wall, and ignore the sloped edge. Your wallpaper will be printed as a full rectangle, and the sloped section can be trimmed during installation.
Pitched walls
For walls with two slanted sides, measure the maximum height and the maximum width of the wall. We will produce your wallpaper as a rectangle, and any angled areas can be trimmed away during installation.
Walls with obstacles
If your wall includes a door, window, or other obstacle, measure the full width and height of the wall. You can cut around the obstacle during installation. If you’d like, you can send us a photo or sketch with measurements and we can provide a preview that includes the obstacles.
Staircases
For staircase walls, measure the widest point and the tallest point of the wall, ignoring the slope. Any extra material will be trimmed during installation.
