The distinctive, stylized work of FEATHR artist Marcos Navarro can be seen bringing buildings, walls and shops to life, between Barcelona and The Basque Country and beyond. Growing up in Barcelona, Marcos was never without a marker pen and sketchbook in hand. As a teenager he got involved with the graffiti scene in his hometown, before going on to study illustration in the Pau Gargallo art school. Since then he has collaborated with independent and international brands around the world, but in his spare time still loves to paint walls and surf.
Exploring themes such as urban subcultures and nature, Navarro’s street art and illustration blends traditional Vasconian influences with his own experiences of the city he grew up in: “When I develop my personal work, I try to delve into global issues from my own insight. My latest paintings refects the human evolution and our connection with nature.”

From the artist:
“BINOMIO is an art project in continuous development. I make a reflexion about the status of humans, as well as the relationship between our own past, present and future. Our bond with the animals, plants or minerals, and how we infuence each other.
I consider the process a decisive moment in the execution of the artwork. I work through juxtaposed elements, it helps me to assembly points between them, and create new issues to think about.
It’s interesting to think about our development in the environment, and how we act differently according to social interest, needs, vices, culture or stigmas. Reflect on the origins of human character, or “acquired” thoughts over time. Social standards placed before free thoughts, the balance between the real and the imaginary.
In the project “Binomio”, through a serial of images, I’m showing some savage characters, primitive botanical elements, or animals that evoke a mystical connection and a retrospective insight to the evolution.”
