The FEATHR50 is the definitive guide to influential interior design blogs.
The big hitters with major influence. The socially connected. The hottest new blogs making waves.
Using multiple data sources, the FEATHR50 tracks the online performance and activities of blogs in the interior design sector. A proprietary algorithm crunches the raw data and creates the F50 Index scores.
Launched in February 2017, the FEATHR50 is the only objective, data-driven and holistic ranking of interior design blogs. We hope you find it useful.
Who’s behind the FEATHR50?
The FEATHR50 has been created by interior design brand FEATHR. FEATHR works with contemporary artists around the world to create original and unique wallpaper, fabrics and cushions.
Why was the FEATHR50 created?
It started with a problem. As the team at FEATHR worked with bloggers, they found other blogger awards and rankings to be inconsistent. Often, they would be based on subjective criteria or limited datasets. So the FEATHR team saw the need for an objective, data-driven and holistic way of understanding the movers and shakers in the blogger world. The FEATHR50 started as tool used internally by the FEATHR team, but as it grew and the dataset became ever more in depth, they thought it could be of real value to the interior design world.
What does the FEATHR50 track and how are the indices calculated?
We track multiple data sources that demonstrate a blog’s performance. These include audience size, social media activity, growth, mentions, influence, authority and many others. A proprietary algorithm then analyzes the dataset and creates the final F50 rankings.
The Top 50 Index is based on absolute measure of influence, determined by all the data sources that we track.
The Social Index is an absolute measure of social connectivity and activity, determined by the social media data sources that we track.
The Trending Index is a relative measure of how well a blog performs versus its scale, determined by all datasets we track.
Is any blog able to be a part of the FEATHR50 tracking?
To be most useful, we aim to only track blogs that focus on interior design. There are, of course, some grey areas about what constitutes an interior design blog – many also focus on lifestyle and crafts, for example. If a blog covers multiple topics, we make the final decision based upon content. If the blog has significant interior design content, it will be included. If it has majority craft, fashion or lifestyle content, and only occasional pieces of interior design content, then we might make the call not to include it.
I’m in the FEATHR50, do you have a badge I can put on my blog?
Yes – if you’d like a badge, you can download them here.
My blog is successful, but isn’t in the FEATHR50 – why’s that?
It’s possible that your blog might be just outside the Top50 – there are some big hitters in there. Or it might be that we have yet to add your blog to the tracking. Just get email the FEATHR50 and let’s chat.
How do I submit a blog?
You can submit your own blog – or someone else’s – by clicking the ‘Submit a blog’ button at the top left of the website header. You can also email the submission by clicking here.
Do you publish data by country?
This is something we’ve already had many requests for. We’re aiming to include country data by the next data update.
When will the next set of data be published?
New FEATHR50 data will be published every 3 months. You can use the countdown clock in the website header to check the next publication date. Follow FEATHR on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter to get the latest updates.
