February’s #FivetoFollow /// Fresh & Unique Voices in Interior Design

Here’s the February #FivetoFollow.  We’ve picked the freshest voices in modern architecture, luxury living, contemporary homes, designer furnishings and all round goodness to share with you.

This month we recommend you feast your eyes on the pastel world of Dutch interior designer & photography duo Zilver Blauw, delve ino the more-than-lovely minds of designers du jour, the 2 Lovely Gays, check out upcoming blogger A Hint of White, luxuriate in the opulence of French for Pineapple and be awestruck by the brutalist concrete delights on The Importance of Being Modernist.  It’s a short month, so that should keep you busy.

1. Zilver Blauw

Confession time – we’re a little lost as to what photographer and interior designer duo Anki & Casper of Zilver Blauw write about.  It’s all Dutch to us.  But the visual consistency of the life they live and the world they share is remarkable.  A subtle mix of kitsch and pastels, you can lose yourself for hours in their creative vision.

2. 2 Lovely Gays

The reputation of interior designers Jordan Cluroe and Russell Whitehead (aka the 2LovelyGays) is growing apace.  Their aesthetic has a modern, restrained opulence mixed with oodles of charm – always stunning and always liveable.  Check them out!

3. A Hint of White

Interior and lifestyle blogger Elaine Croft of A Hint of White covers everything from recipes for delectable looking oatcakes to equally good looking interior design.  We’re very happy to consume all of it, and loved this pick she’d made from Jonathon Adler’s recent work.

4. French for Pineapple

We only discovered the work and world of Bianca Hall of French for Pineapple recently, when we stumbled across (and misattributed, sorry!) her amazing DIY sheepskin stools project.  Her aesthetic is modern opulence at its best, and we recommend spending time with her world (which includes delights like this Mineheart lamp).

5.  The Importance of Being Modernist

Photographer Alex James Bruce of The Importance of Being Modernist has a mean, mean eye for brutalist and modernist detail – from eastern bloc street furniture to London high rises.  He publishes his own photography, along with images of the best modernist architecture from around the world (including this shot from Helsinki’s 1952 Olympic Stadium)
