As we reach the end of the first year of the FEATHR50, we’ve taken a look behind the scenes. Along with tracking the top performing blogs, we also like to keep an eye on some of the interesting stories that appear in the data. It’s been another fascinating year of change and growth in interiors world – Instagram stars have been shining bright.

Best Worldwide Interiors Blogger 2018
Winner:
Design*Sponge does it again! Try as they might, no other blog could knock D*S off it’s perch at any point during the year. But could this be their last year at the top? Whereas in 2017 their growth rate was 30%, it’s down in 2018 and others are snapping at their heels.

Best British Blogger 2018
Winner:
Will wins once more. Based in New York, Will Taylor hails from the shores of England. His blog, Bright Bazaar, has long been recognized as a leader in the interior and style space. Last year he won by a healthy margin – in 2018 MadAbouttheHouse closed in – so we may well see Kate Watson-Smyth claim top spot in 2019.
Runner Up:
Fastest Growing Instagrammer 2018
Winner:
In this new category for 2018, we looked at both follower numbers and relative growth. Big congratulations to Katie Woods of Come Down to the Woods who blasted to top spot, adding nearly 50k followers and growing 75%.
Runner Up:
Top Trending Blogger 2018
Winner:
Nicola Broughton of The Girl with the Green Sofa picked up the award for best newcomer in 2017. She continued her run early this year, picking up Top Trending Blog in Q1 and Q2 2018. So it’s a well deserved win for her in 2018 as Top Trending Blog!
