The watercolors of French artist Claire de Quénetaine explore the romance and richness of nature. In La Cueillette (or ‘The Gathering’), she captures abundance at a time of traditional foraging.
Our Creative Director, Oliver Green, on why we love this design: "Pretty. Dreamy. Bottom of the garden on a hot summers day. Being a child and looking at the wonder of butterfly wings. La Cueillette conjurse a mood and feeling so light and free - every time I see it I’m immediately transported to the best parts of summer and freedom."
French-born Claire de Quénetain started her artistic practice in Fine Arts at the ECAL in Lausanne, Switzerland and studied Printed Texiles at the Royal College of Art. Having a passion for gardens, she creates a personal expression of marks and forms through paintings and drawings. She paints with spontaneity, to catch the generosity of forms, colours and movement of nature.
