Meet the interior design blogging movers and shakers of 2017.
As we reach the end of the first year of the FEATHR50, we’ve taken a look behind the scenes. Along with tracking the top performing blogs, we also like to keep an eye on some of the interesting stories that appear in the data. It’s been a fascinating year, with some bloggers building reputations and audiences that rival the traditional interior design magazines.

Best Worldwide Interiors Blogger
Winner:
The behemoth of Design Sponge claims the top spot for 2017. Try as they might, no other blog could knock D*S off it’s perch at any point during the year. But the D*S team are not resting on their laurels: they continue to grow at an impressive rate, with up to 30% growth across the key indicators we track.

Best British Blogger
Winner:
Although based in New York, Will Taylor hails from the shores of England. His blog, Bright Bazaar, has long been recognized as a leader in the interior and style space – and he claims the top spot for British interiors blogging in 2017.
Runner Up:
Fastest Growing Website
Winner:
Blogger Kelly Elko has picked up the no.1 spot here. Her website performance has been incredible this year, powering up across all indicators on blog performance. Whilst many successful websites have performed well with a 10% growth on key performance indicators in 2017, Kelly’s managed an outstanding 90% growth.

Winner:
Emma Jane Palin is a London-based creative lifestyle blogger with an avid love for design, interiors, and travel. She uses her dayjob in design communiations to feed her blog – and vice versa – resulting in a rich and aesthetically awesome blog. With the epic performance of her blog this year, we expect Emma to have an amazing 2018.

Fastest Growing Social Presence
Winner:
Little Big Bell is run London-based Geraldine Tan. No stranger to success in the social media space – she started with the year with over 100,000 followers across her channels – but she’s kept up the outstanding growth in social media audiences and activity, with 150% increase in her social media presence.
Runner Up:
Best Newcomer
Winner:
It’s a crowded place in the interior design blog world: so newcomers have trouble making themselves heard. But Nicola Broughton of The Girl with the Green Sofa has shone through this year. She’s succeeded by building a passionate fan base around her personal journey into creating a maximalist home. With a fast growing social presence (she already has over 50,000 followers on Instagram), a new blog and regular features in the national and international press, 2018 looks like it’ll be an amazing year for Nicola.
